OUR HISTORY

Our history is deeply rooted in the vision and expertise of our founder, Benjamin Boyko, a red seal carpenter with a rich background in the commercial trades business. Benjamin embarked on his professional journey in commercial construction in 2003, establishing Boyko Construction, a small subcontracting firm. Since its inception, Boyko Construction has played a pivotal role in shaping Vancouver’s skyline, contributing to numerous residential high-rise projects. Working closely with prime forming contractors, the company has taken on the critical responsibility of managing concrete forming logistics for some of Vancouver’s most prestigious developments, including Electronic Arts in Burnaby, Trump Tower, Vanduzen Gardens, Children’s Hospital, Aberdeen Mall in Richmond, and numerous 40+ story high-rises throughout the Lower Mainland.
In 2018, Benjamin expanded his entrepreneurial ventures by founding Benjamin Landscaping and Projects, a design-build landscape company. Since then, it has successfully served over 400 satisfied clients, delivering top-notch landscape, hardscape, and construction services. Today, Benjamin serves as chairman, leading a talented team and continuing to oversee essential services. With his extensive experience as a carpenter, more than 20 years as a lead foreman, and significant tenure as a superintendent and estimator in the commercial sector, Benjamin possesses an intimate understanding of every facet of commercial construction. His expertise in managing trades, optimizing timing, refining details, and fostering a highly productive environment ensures that every trade can perform their work seamlessly and efficiently. Benjamin believes that the success of any project hinges on the collective success of each trade, which is achieved through flawless communication, precise timing, ample resources, easy access, and smooth financial operations. We also handle the procurement of all necessary documents required for permit submissions. Additionally, we meticulously check purchase orders and confirm the availability of materials. A comprehensive health and safety plan is identified and documented in full compliance with WorkSafe BC regulations
DESIGN AND BUDGETING

The design process, managed by designers and architects, often necessitates close collaboration with a contractor to ensure the vision is both cost-effective and feasible as envisioned by the architect. This includes conceptual design development to ensure the client’s functional and design objectives are fully met. Leveraging our strong relationships with suppliers, we secure the best possible prices on materials. We also identify value opportunities by proposing adjustments in materials and scope of work. Additionally, we provide a detailed budget and develop a comprehensive project construction schedule, determining allowances for finishes. FEASIBILITY

We support you during the planning phase by conducting comprehensive due diligence to pinpoint
potential risks to the project schedule and budget. A detailed site assessment is carried out to assess the feasibility of the proposed work, taking into account existing site conditions and landlord requirements, if applicable. We engage in discussions about a budget range based on the initial scope of work, specifications, and level of finishes. Furthermore, we identify budget risks and propose strategies to minimize any unnecessary costs.

CONSTRUCTION
The seamless coordination of trades working in harmony demands extensive experience to anticipate and eliminate obstacles, ensuring the success of all trades flows smoothly. During the construction phase, you can expect Benjamin Contracting to maintain regular cleaning, rubbish removal, and inspections of protected surfaces. We will consistently review the budget to identify potential cost-saving opportunities. Our team will inspect the progress and quality of work by subcontractors to prevent unnecessary additional charges. Finally, we conduct thorough final inspections, deficiency walkthroughs, and address any last-minute alterations to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
